In times of war, each of us tries to do everything we can to be useful. For children, especially teenagers, it is also very important to find a field where they can express themselves, feel their own strength and involvement. And volunteering is one of these tools. In addition, volunteering can help build new friendships and even prevent anxiety, which is very important for Ukrainians today.

When I taught the Lesson in Volunteering in local schools, I realized that no one had ever talked about such opportunities in school before. Yet, now I know students who would love to attend the Lesson in Volunteering because they hear a lot about the impact of volunteers on changing the country. These Lessons allow young people to understand the idea of volunteering and why people join it. They also introduce them to the variety of its areas!

Volunteering is an extremely important and useful activity for teens’ development, as well as a real opportunity to influence their school and community at large positively. Volunteering gives young people a chance to explore their interests, demonstrate their abilities, and find true friends and like-minded people. By involving students in volunteer work, you help develop their life and leadership skills, and most importantly, you nurture responsible and upright citizens.

I am delighted that volunteering is now a trend among young people. Today's teenagers are very patriotic, socially responsible, and willing to help each other. And this makes us believe in our bright future. Volunteering is a crucial component of social development. After all, it is about mutual assistance, friendship, the first teamwork experience, and the first projects. It may even be the first experience of work and responsibility. And, of course, it is all about doing good. I am glad that young people prefer it.

For me, volunteering is an opportunity to make the world at least a little kinder. As a teacher, I want to motivate my students by personal example. What we do for ourselves dies with us. What we do for others and the world remains undying! I believe that if each of us does at least one good deed, life will become brighter. Let's take small steps toward our dream victory!

Every day, thousands of Ukrainians put their efforts into helping others. Doctors, lawyers, IT professionals, chefs, teachers, and also schoolchildren. They see problems in their city and community and come together to make changes in small steps: They organize clean-ups and charity literary events, take care of animals in shelters, weave camouflage nets, and find countless other ways to be useful. Through volunteering, students fulfill themselves, find friends, and discover new opportunities and hobbies. Our important goal is to open the world of good deeds to them and dispel stereotypes that may arise along the way.
