WHO CAN TEACH THE LESSON?

Teachers, educators, and organizers

We aim to empower educators, so we provide a ready-made program and all necessary materials for the Lesson. We are ready to support you at every step!

Community activists and volunteers

Anyone who wants to visit their local school and tell students about volunteering can join our project. To do this, you need to complete a short registration and receive detailed instructions with teaching materials from our team.

Coaches of the Ukrainian Volunteer Service

Coaches of our community are experienced volunteers who talk about volunteering opportunities and self-development. They prove by their own example that volunteering is easy. The volunteer-to-volunteer format creates the magic of trust.

Volunteering is not only an important component of civic activism but also a valuable learning experience for young people. Students who participate in volunteer activities develop an understanding of the needs and problems of their environment, as well as empathy and a sense of responsibility for bringing change to their community.

In times of uncertainty, teens spend a lot of energy and personal resources searching for their vocation. Through volunteering, students can take care of their energy since it's an important component of an active lifestyle and also be inspired to choose their future careers!

SHARING THOUGHTS THAT MATTER

Mary Lemza

Agents of Volunteering program graduate

For me, volunteering back in my school years was an opportunity to see my hometown in a new light and from different perspectives, recognizing its problems and shortcomings and its potential for development and creativity. The desire to contribute something of my own helped me connect with like-minded people. Volunteering also helped me to understand my future career path. In particular, my volunteer experience was helpful in my admission to UWC College in Hong Kong, so that I could come back and contribute to Ukraine's reconstruction.

Alesia Shepelevych

Organizer of School Lessons in Volunteering in Mykolaiv

When I taught the Lesson in Volunteering in local schools, I realized that no one had ever talked about such opportunities in school before. Yet, now I know students who would love to attend the Lesson in Volunteering because they hear a lot about the impact of volunteers on changing the country. These Lessons allow young people to understand the idea of volunteering and why people join it. They also introduce them to the variety of its areas!

Taras Derkach

Coordinator of Youth Development Programs at UNICEF Ukraine

Volunteering is an extremely important and useful activity for teens’ development, as well as a real opportunity to influence their school and community at large positively. Volunteering gives young people a chance to explore their interests, demonstrate their abilities, and find true friends and like-minded people. By involving students in volunteer work, you help develop their life and leadership skills, and most importantly, you nurture responsible and upright citizens.

Oleksandr Pedan

Leader of the JUNIORS Movement

I am delighted that volunteering is now a trend among young people. Today's teenagers are very patriotic, socially responsible, and willing to help each other. And this makes us believe in our bright future. Volunteering is a crucial component of social development. After all, it is about mutual assistance, friendship, the first teamwork experience, and the first projects. It may even be the first experience of work and responsibility. And, of course, it is all about doing good. I am glad that young people prefer it.

Oksana Yurkiv

Physical education teacher at the V. Hereta Lyceum in Kozova

For me, volunteering is an opportunity to make the world at least a little kinder. As a teacher, I want to motivate my students by personal example. What we do for ourselves dies with us. What we do for others and the world remains undying! I believe that if each of us does at least one good deed, life will become brighter. Let's take small steps toward our dream victory!

Anna Bondarenko

Head and Founder of the Ukrainian Volunteer Service

Every day, thousands of Ukrainians put their efforts into helping others. Doctors, lawyers, IT professionals, chefs, teachers, and also schoolchildren. They see problems in their city and community and come together to make changes in small steps: They organize clean-ups and charity literary events, take care of animals in shelters, weave camouflage nets, and find countless other ways to be useful. Through volunteering, students fulfill themselves, find friends, and discover new opportunities and hobbies. Our important goal is to open the world of good deeds to them and dispel stereotypes that may arise along the way.
