SCHOOL LESSON IN VOLUNTEERING BECAME PART OF THE TEACHER TRAINING PROGRAM
The Ukrainian Volunteer Service NGO together with the State Scientific Institution “Institute for Education Content Modernization” (IMZO) have developed a teacher training program. Now, the School Lesson in Volunteering project is beginning its journey in the education system of Ukraine, as educators can receive ECTS credits for professional development through participation in the program.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN?
The advanced training program “Theory and Practice of Volunteering in General Secondary Education Institutions” is a specialized training course designed for
- Educators,
- leaders of school volunteer groups,
- and other stakeholders working in the field of education.
The program was jointly developed by the Ukrainian Volunteer Service and the Institute for Education Content Modernization of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

HOW DOES THE TRAINING PROGRAM WORK?
- Interested educators enroll in the program (see the last card).
- Participants attend a webinar where they learn the theory of volunteering, including its history and principles.
- Participants gain skills in planning volunteer projects in schools, including the organization of a School Lesson in Volunteering.
- Educators can network and share ideas and best practices.
- Participants apply their knowledge and skills by organizing School Lessons in Volunteering, volunteer initiatives, and projects with students.
· Successful program participants can receive certificates (1 ECTS credit = 30 hours) confirming their qualifications.
HOW CAN EDUCATORS PARTICIPATE IN THE PROGRAM?
To participate in the program, you have to attend webinars that are regularly announced on our Facebook page. We regularly share the methodology of teaching the School Lessons in Volunteering at the webinars. You can learn more about the project and get methodological materials on the project website.
