VOICES OF VOLUNTEERING – EP 10 – EMERGENCY AID TO THE VICTIMS OF THE TERRORIST ATTACK ON KAKHOVKA DAM
Our Voices of Volunteering podcast is crossing the final milestone: The final tenth episode has been released. Over this time, the creator and host of the podcast, Anna Bondarenko, has managed to discuss volunteering in its many different manifestations, including working with culture, rebuilding homes, evacuating, helping animals, talking to the elderly, organizing leisure activities for children, finding cars for the military, and much more. These are unique experiences of people who did not get lost waiting for guidance but instead created their own rules.
We are wrapping up this incredible season with an open episode from Kyiv, featuring wonderful people at the hospitable Veteran Hub. In the last episode of the first season, we talk about the emergency response to the terrorist attack at the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station. The volunteers we invited were among the first to arrive. They are Yevhen Petrov, volunteer of the Zhyva NGO, Yevhen Bielov, founder and volunteer of the Vilnyi Kharkiv charity foundation, Denys Kliap, co-founder and volunteer of the Vilni ta Nezlamni charity foundation, and Natalia Kalantaienko, head of partnerships at the Ukrainian Volunteer Service. To find out how they reacted and united so quickly, share tasks, and find their superpower, listen to the episode on SoundCloud, Spotify, Google, and Apple Podcasts.
